Proudly presenting my fifth studio album: Soft Focus. Out January 21st, 2022.

Soft Focus - my fifth studio album - is undoubtedly my most ambitious attempt to date at translating the world around me into a record that evokes a broad spectrum of feelings. This record marries an intricately layered production style with warm sonics and a nod to numerous musical influences such as 90’s golden era hip-hop, obscure Northern Soul from the 60’s, mid-century jazz and early-70’s rhythm-and-blues. My fondness of sampling, vintage tape delays and love for analog synthesizers characterise much of the album, which was recorded over the course of a year primarily at my home studio full of analog curiosities in the picturesque town of Leuven, Belgium.

The resulting record is a scintillating journey of dusty, dreamy hip-hop-colored beat construction that can be best described as analog nostalgia: a sonic capsule that manages to bottle the past, the present and the future while drawing the listener into a constantly moving auditive journey. It’s the sound of my many sides fusing together: the passionate crate digger, the analog enthousiast and the considered composer.

The album’s first single Hourglass featuring ultra-lyricists ASM (A State Of Mind) will be out on Friday, October 22nd.
